INTELLIGENT PRODUCTIVITY Work smarter not harder with robotic mowers
Autumn 2025

Toro robotic mowing has arrived and with it comes the new generation of working smarter, not harder

. minute read

For grounds customers looking for a way to mow thousands of square metres with no manpower required and no compromise in quality, then autonomous is the route for you.

Two Toro Turf Pro robotic mowers

Control mowing of up to 75,000m2 on slopes of up to 24 degrees through a single app.

Perfect for areas requiring a height of cut up to 100mm, Toro’s range of robotic mowing solutions for sports pitches, private schools, colleges and estates, contractors, and horse racing tracks focus on getting the job done consistently and efficiently freeing up significant resource to be allocated elsewhere.

It does this by using RTK (Real Time Kinematics), GPS and five sonars for obstacle detection. It responds to customer feedback and research that indicated there was a changing mindset regarding labour support, combatting increasing operational costs and how to approach mowing certain areas.

The arrival of autonomous technology is what we’ve been anticipating and talking about for years. It provides a way to dramatically increase productivity and get even more consistent results.

The Turf Pro is the perfect entry point for all the benefits associated with autonomous operation. There are three fully robotic models of the Turf Pro: the Turf Pro 300 has three cutting heads and a mowing area of 45,000m2; the Turf Pro 500 has five cutting heads and a mowing area of 75,000m2, and the Turf Pro 500S is for use on slopes of up to 24 degrees. All are conveniently managed through a single app.

Toro Turf Pro mower at charging station

These clever mowers return to their charging stations when finished.

Accuracy is within a 0.75–1.25inch (2–3cm) level precision, enabling them to mow a consistent pattern with a minimal overlap. They are all-electric and self-charging. They have an average run time of 110 minutes, charge to full in 90 minutes and automatically return to their charging stations when finished. Being battery-powered means they’re quiet, with lower exhaust, emissions, a decreased carbon footprint and risk of potential spills.
