A
Aeration
-Aeration is the process of physically altering the soil structure by creating holes in the soil to increase pore space. This process allows for the penetration and circulation of air, water, and nutrients – all of which are essential for turf health, growth, and resiliency. Get our latest tips on aeration here.
B
Blades
-Rotary blades are a key element in dictating quality of cut. There are different designs to suit the cutting conditions, purpose of the mower, and cutting deck, and their key job is to create a vacuum between the spinning blade and the ground. This causes the grass blades to stand up, ready for cutting. Fitting your mower with Toro blades guarantees the beautifully clean, healthy cut your turf deserves.
Bedknives
-Along with the cylinder and the frame, the bedknife is one of three main structural parts in a cylinder cutting unit. Bedknives are attached to the bedbar and mounted to the main frame; they remain stationary while blades pass over them, creating a scissor-like shearing action.

Belts
-A mower belt’s primary role is to transfer power from the engine to the blades, enabling them to rotate and cut grass effectively. Without a properly functioning mower belt, the blades won’t spin, leading to inefficient cutting and potential damage to the engine. Explore how Toro belts are designed and manufactured to fit a specific application here.
C
Cylinder mowers
-A cylinder mower is a precision tool. It has either 5, 7, 8, 11 or 14 exposed blades at the front of the mower, which rotate on a horizontal axis, trapping and slicing the grass against a fixed bottom blade in a scissor-like action. This causes less damage to the grass leaves, leading to a superior quality of cut. Toro’s cylinder mowers also offer superior operator comfort and ease of use.

D
Diesel-powered engines
-Quality diesel-powered engines have been fuelling turfcare since 1924, when Toro introduced its first power mower. Since then, diesel engines have been at the centre of Toro innovation – and the brand’s partnerships with some of the best engine manufacturers in the world, such as Kawasaki and Yanmar.
Debris blower
-Leaf blowers generate enough airflow to move or vacuum up grass clippings and plant debris like leaves and aeration cores or chaff. Reesink offers a selection from Toro, giving customers a range from which to choose the right tools for the job, to ultimately improve aesthetics, the health of the grass, and the safety of walking areas.
Toro’s Pro Force blower provides the greatest air volume flow than any other single nozzle turbine on the market. See here for the ultimate in productivity.
E
Electric mowers
-Red really is leading the green revolution when it comes to electric mowers: battery-powered greens, tees, and fairway mowers, as well as ride-on, pedestrian, and grounds mowers; there’s one for every area of the course and even grounds venues. With on-board charging and no infrastructure accommodation needed, going electric can be easily introduced to existing fleets.
F
Flail mower
-A flail mower gets its name from the use of flails, which spin over the axle. Rows of flails are usually staggered to give a continuous cut and are connected to the drum via hinges, which means they won’t break or bend if they hit a rock. Flail mowers like Toro’s LT-F3000 are ideal for overgrown areas and thicker vegetation, as well as during reduced cutting cycles, thanks to their productivity, power, and design.
Filters
-An air filter prevents dirt, dust, and debris from entering the engine, which can cause severe damage over time. By ensuring only clean air mixes with the fuel for combustion, filters help maintain engine performance and promote machine longevity. For smooth operation, always use genuine Toro filters.
G
Greensmaster
-The Greensmaster line of mowers represents Toro’s ongoing commitment to innovation and excellence, enabling every club to create tournament-quality greens. Whether the efficiency of a triplex rider or the detailed appearance of a pedestrian mower, Toro has a Greensmaster to fit any club or application.
Groundsmaster
-With its Groundsmaster line, Toro has created tough, dependable, and productive mowers. From golf courses to councils, local authorities, contractors, universities, and school and college campuses, are just some of the environments that depend on these rugged machines. With a full line to maintain everything from small and tight areas to wide open public spaces, Toro has a Groundsmaster with the productivity, power, and all-day comfort to conquer any grounds challenge.
Greens Pro
-Green rolling is the process of using specialised equipment to flatten and smooth the putting greens on a golf course to affect putting speed, and the best way to do that is with the Toro GreensPro. The benefits of green rolling are two-fold: for members, it offers enhanced play and speed control; and for turfcare professionals, improved grass quality and maintenance control.

GeoLink
-GPS mapping technology is helping to revolutionise turf maintenance for both mowing and spraying. And when it comes to dealing with chemicals, or autonomous mowing, the more precise the better – and that’s where GPS technology like Toro’s GeoLink comes in. GeoLink helps you remove the guess work. In the case of spraying, when combined with the Multi Pro 5800 and 1750, it becomes the industry’s first turf-based precision spray system, providing the most accurate method of spraying on the market. Here are five reasons why you should invest in GeoLink spray technology today.
H
Hybrid mowers
-Providing a dual power source, a hybrid drive system combines battery power with a diesel engine. When more power is needed, the mower moves the cutting unit load from the engine to the battery pack, providing more horsepower to the traction circuit. The battery pack continues to power the cutting units while also boosting the engine, giving – in the case of Toro’s Reelmaster 5010-H hybrid fairway mower – the equivalent of over 40hp. Learn more about the industry’s first and only fairway mower with a true hybrid drive system here.

Pedestrian mowers
-Also known as walk-behind or standing mowers, pedestrian mowers are considered to offer a greater level of precision and control than a ride-on mower. Toro’s, in particular, are respected for creating a championship finish on greens and tees, and stadium surfaces – essentially the areas where a neater, tighter cut and healthier sward are required.
Toro’s range of pedestrian mowers includes petrol, diesel and electric powered models, with either a fixed or flex head. Explore the range here.
Performance brush
-A performance brush usually fits to the front of the mower. There are options for fairways, triple ride-ons, and pedestrian mowers, helping you create an even cut across the grass and also remove debris. Reesink offers Toro-compatible performance brushes from both ATT and Sports Metals.
ProCore
-A term applied to Toro’s market-leading, customer-favourite pedestrian and towed aerators. Considered to deliver the gold standard in turf aeration, they’re the best in the business. Discover the benefits of ProPass here.
Parts (Genuine Parts)
-Toro ensures all its parts meet specific standards – standards that are higher than industry norms. It also uses the same service parts as those from the manufacturing line, so every replacement part works first time, every time.
That’s why ‘Genuine Parts’ is an accepted term; it reflects their production line origins that match the machine they will be fitted to exactly. There’s no need for hopeful will-it-fit here, giving customers complete peace of mind.
R
Rotary mower
-Toro’s range of rotary mowers are exceptionally versatile machines, capable of adapting to both rougher terrains and formal lawns alike. The heart of their effectiveness comes from the rotary blade that rotates horizontally and swiftly, a design that allows for rapid grass cutting – something Toro excels at.
Reelmaster
-‘Reel’ is the American term for ‘cylinder’, so essentially everything titled ‘Reelmaster’ is a cylinder mower. Toro favours this term and it forms the prefix for many a favourite model, including the 5010-H, 3550, 3575, and 3100, each delivering, as you’d expect, a fine, quality cut like no other. Check out the full range of Toro cylinder mowers.

Topdressing
-An essential turfcare practice that involves sand and other materials being spread across the turf to dilute a layer of organic material known as thatch, optimise drainage, and smooth out the surface for better playability.
Topdressing is often referred to as the secret to better turf health and playability. And Toro’s broadcast style of topdressers increase productivity with accurate spread patterns for light or heavy topdressing.

Z
Zero-turn mowers
-A zero-turn mower is a standard ride-on mower with a turning radius of effectively zero. This effect is achieved by rotating the two drive wheels in opposite directions. Zero-turn mowers like the Toro Groundsmaster 7210 are often described as being able to turn on a six pence, making them ideal for mowing around obstacles.
At Reesink, we take pride in being the trusted home of Toro machinery for over 40 years. As this guide demonstrates, we deliver Toro’s innovation, quality, and versatility directly to you, making it easier than ever to harness the Toro advantage and elevate your turf.
