Who should attend: Anyone with limited experience operating ride-on mowing equipment. These courses are aimed at new starters, including landscape contractors, greenkeepers, farmers and operators from local authorities.

Course objectives: This is practical training and assessment in the use of mower operations, showing that the operator can manoeuvre the mower skillfully and safely. The test includes pre-use checks and maintenance; identification of controls and instrument panels and operating the machine in line with the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 (PUWER)

Course fee: For the course material and assessment, £80 per person + VAT (Hotel additional £90 per night per person)

Principles and factors that affect clip, unit configuration and after-cut appearance and how to use the handheld diagnostic systems Level 1 electrics with component testing, Level 1 hydraulics and engine units.

Who should attend: These courses are nationally recognised qualifications for landscape contractors, greenkeepers, local authorities and farmers seeking to gain accreditation in safe use of pesticide applications.

Course objectives: To understand legislation when storing and applying chemicals safely and the use of pesticides while being governed by the Food and Environment Protection Act 1985 (FEPA), the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 (PUWER) and the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations 1999 (COSHH).

Course fee: PA1 and PA2 plus assessment £300 per person + VAT

Who should attend: These courses are for operators from local authorities, groundsmen or greenkeepers wanting a quick refresher course for pre-use checks to be carried out before using a compact tractor and its attachments.

Course objectives: Tractors are very versatile vehicles with a wide variety of uses. This course guides users through basic operations and manoeuvering, as well as how to use attachments, trailers and the power take-off shaft. Learn to perform routine maintenance to the standard of the manufacturers’ instruction manual to ensure the tractor is in a safe road-going state.

Course also open to experienced tractor drivers who need to update their knowledge and skills to get the best out of new machinery.

All courses are delivered by nationally recognised quality assured trainers and assessors and include a mixture of practical and theory coursework. Appropriate safety clothing will be required when attending.

Course objectives: The versatility of tractors, and the ever-wider range of types and attachments now available, makes them increasingly productive and effective tools. This course allows the learner to grasp the potential of that tool by covering off operations, manoeuvering and routine maintenance checks. As well as receiving plenty of hands-on experience, discover the theory behind tractor driving, with sessions on key health and safety issues.

Training includes pre-use checks and maintenance; identification of controls and instruments and operating the machine in line with the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 (PUWER).
