Trentham Golf Club

Background

With the club’s 125th anniversary coming up, Trentham Golf Club in North Staffordshire had events and functions planned and it was imperative the club had the best possible equipment in place to keep the 135-acre course in peak condition. The first five-year plan was ending, and a decision needed to be made about what to do next.

Brief

The club had signed its first lease deal with Reesink and Toro five years previously taking it from owning no Toro equipment to being a Toro ‘Total Solutions’ customer boasting a full fleet of Toro machines and Toro Lynx central control system irrigation with 170 Infinity series greens, approaches and surrounds sprinklers.

When it came to signing a new agreement, “there wasn’t a need to look anywhere else,” says Course Manager, Ed Stant and the club’ s second five-year agreement plan with distributor Reesink Turfcare for Toro machinery was signed.

Results

The machines have been a perfect fit for the club and were replaced like for like. Toro had done everything the club needed it to for the last five years. According to Ed, the machinery is durable and lasts incredibly well and the irrigation system proved its worth, paying dividends over summer stress with all the members noticing the benefits.

Conclusion

The machines, the service and the communication from local dealer Oakleys Groundcare and from Reesink Turfcare were complimented by Ed and the team, and the difference using Toro has brought to the club has been huge: the grass is healthier, the surfaces are more aesthetically pleasing and playability is improved.
